Caveats:

A. In many cases the photos shown are old photographs. This is not done to mislead the viewer, but simply because they were available to us.

B.  The carriages/sleighs have been well kept in so far as they have been stored indoors from the time each was purchased by Bert Powell between 1938 and the early 1960’s all the way to the present day. At present the bones of the carriages/sleighs are good, but almost every carriage/sleigh is in need of some love and attention. In an ideal world the potential buyer of each carriage/sleigh would be able to see the carriage in person or arrange for a buyer’s rep to view the carriage in question. As sellers we would be happy to take whatever photos and videos are needed.

C. Moving the carriages/sleighs from King, Ontario (45 minutes north of Toronto) to each buyer’s destination of choice is the responsibility of the buyer and must be arranged by the buyer.

11. Golf Stanhope

 11.  Golf Stanhope (c. 1905) manufactured by the McLaughlin Carriage Co, which became General Motors, Oshawa Ontario.  The carriage was a two-seater with the rear door up; when the rear door is lowered the rear seat appears.  The wicker holder on the driver’s side is for golf clubs.  Originally, this cart would have been painted black with red mouldings, wheels and gear.  This cart is painted black with creamy yellow seats and flaps and black leather front skirt. A letter dated August 1957 from Colonel Robert Samuel McLaughlin himself explains some background about the McLaughlin Golf Stanhope.
